Seniors - Mahatma Rice Scholarship

Need money?

Mahatma, Carolina, and Riceland Rice in partnership with Univision Radio offer high school seniors in designated areas who wish to attend college the chance to win a two thousand dollar prize by writing an essay. Deadline February 15, 2011

Six winners will be chosen from the Miami-Dade and Broward County area.

Entry forms may be downloaded from mahatmarice.com/scholarship.

All essays must have either a completed entry form attached or contain the information requested on the form typed or clearly printed at the top of the essay. All essays must address the given topic as it is shown on the brochures and on the web site.

"How to Write a Winning Scholarship Essay" is a free download on the web site.

Submissions sent by Certified Mail will NOT be processed.

This program is not targeted at nor does it exclude any cultural, occupational, or academic group. The essay alone determines the winners.

All entries must be mailed to the address on the brochure. Students may not enter online.

The postmark deadline for entries is February 15, 2011.

Entries postmarked after that date may not be accepted. Twenty finalists will be contacted and interviewed at the Univision Radio corporate offices in Coral Gables. The six winners' names will be announced by April 30, 201 1. All prizes will be awarded by May 31, 2011. The decision of the judges will be final. Essays will not be returned. Each winner will receive a check from Mahatma Rice in the amount of two thousand dollars ($2,000). The winning students may use the money for any college expense.
