College Night - Monday 10/18 at 6 pm

MAST COLLEGE NIGHT will be on Monday October 18 starting at 6pm.

College Night is a HUGE opportunity for parents and students to meet College Reps in our own back yard!
Last year we had over 600 people in attendance. Students are representing our school, please make sure they are dressed appropriately and please be prompt..


STUDENT'S ATTENDANCE IS IMPERATIVE!

Students must sign in by grade upon arrival to earn credit for their attendance.

5:30-6:30 pm Light Dinner for Sale for parents and students by Culinary Students
• 6:00-8:00 pm College Representatives will be set up to discuss their programs with parents and students.
• 6:00-8:30 pm Senior and Junior parents can sign up (upstairs in front of Student Services) for 10-minute private CAP session with Ms Cosgrove.
  
7:30 to 8:30 parents and students should chose TWO 1/2 hour seminar on different topics. See list below
Refreshments will be sold by PTSA throughout the evening. Donations of waters, sodas and brownies welcome.

Sox Community Project 10/7-10/21

Any student who wishes to help Camillus House or get extra community service can bring in a new pack of men's socks to Ms. Ulman's room. Be sure you put your name on every pack of men's socks you bring. You will receive one hour of community service.

Seniors - NBC6 Essay Contest - Deadline 11/14/10

NBC 6 is sponsoring a Homeroom Reformers Student Essay Contest through their NBC News Education Nation Initiative. Education Nation seeks to engage the public, through thoughtful dialogue, in pursuit of the shared goal of providing every American with an opportunity to pursue the best education in the world.

At the classroom level, senior high school students living in South Florida will have the opportunity to submit innovative, creative and compelling ideas to address education reform in their schools. The goal is to encourage and nurture an emerging generation of leaders and innovators to make a meaningful difference in our local schools.

The contest will reward one high school student from the tri-county community (Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties) with a $5,000 grant to fund a local education program of their choice in the public high school they are attending. The contest period runs from September 26, 2010 through November 14, 2010, with announcement of the winner scheduled for December 15, 2010.

United Way Campaign 10/4 - 11/5/10

The United Way Campaign has begun. Monies will be collected during homeport. Every little bit counts; it's going towards an amazing cause. Help your class make its goal of $200.
